The Margaret River region in Western Australia is known for its stunning natural beauty, world-class wineries, and thriving food scene. It's also a great destination for dog lovers, with plenty of dog-friendly venues where you can enjoy a drink or a meal with your furry companion. Here are some of the best dog-friendly venues in the Margaret River region;

WHITE ELEPHANT CAFE

The outdoor seating area is dog-friendly, and your pup can enjoy a swim in the ocean or a run on the beach before or after your meal. •If you’re travelling with your furbaby in tow there’s plenty of pet-friendly destinations to get your coffee and vino fix. The Local at the start of the main strip next to the Bakery is a collective creative community of local artistans, perfect shopping for those unique holiday pieces to take home. Within the space is Cafe Mosaic, a very dog-friendly venue serving up puppaccinos and small bites. Bring along your little mate and they might be snapped to appear on their dedicated instagram page @margaret.river_cafe.dogs

•Anyone who’s visited Margs with their pooch in the past will already know how great the Brewhouse is for a meal, you might not know about their popular Dogtoberfest event every (you guessed it) October. A chance to get creative dressing up your pup and strutting in the fashion parade with prizes up for grabs. Follow the Brewhouse on social media to find out this year’s date and all of their events.

for the kids;

Ninjas in mOcean Play Centre is our top pick outing for kids of all ages. Run by Margaret River’s very own Ninja Warrior queen, Janet Smith it includes a soft playground for kids up to 10 years old with a seperate area for babies & toddlers. The Ninja/Parkour zone was inspired by Janet’s appearances on the TV show Australian Ninja Warrior, where aspiring ninjas (6years+) can run, jump, swing, hang, climb and test their agility on the 3 specially made ninja rigs. It’s a busy spot, especially during the wetter months so to avoid any tears we recommend booking online before you arrive!

• Another recommendation to keep the kids entertained is to check out the programme at The Heart. There’s often a family-friendly movie screening on the weekends and during the school holidays they run a variety of workshops from arts & crafting to learning how to sing. Parents can browse the latest art exhibition in the foyer or grab a coffee next door at West Coffee Co. while you wait.
